THE MELBOURNE HIGH SCHOOL BAND IS NOW THE RECIPIENT OF THE PRESTIGIOUS OTTO J. KRAUSHAAR AWARD, GIVEN BY THE FLORIDA BANDMASTERS ASSOCIATION FOR RECEIVING SUPERIOR RATINGS IN MARCHING BAND, DISTRICT CONCERT BAND AND STATE CONCERT BAND IN THE SAME YEAR. WHAT AN ACCOMPLISHMENT!

Congratulations to our students who performed with the United States Air Force Reserve Band
These MHS Band members performed with the United States Air Force Reserve Band on Tuesday, January 24 at the Melbourne Auditorium. They took part in a tremendous concert, playing with the band on John Philip Sousa’s Gallant Seventh. Pictured are Mr. Clark, Sarah McKee, Michelle Cherne, Yun Chu Huang, Eric Olsen, Nick Sellinger, Chris Phelps, Kyle Zamagias, Riley Fallen, Hunter Brouwer, Tim Hartselle and Patrick Hannon.
The Pride of Mel Hi Band is comprised of the marching, jazz and concert bands at Melbourne High School in Melbourne, Florida. Established in 1926, the Pride of Mel Hi has a rich history and tradition of excellence that is truly special. The band has performed at numerous state and national events including the MENC National Convention. Among its broad accomplishments was the honor of hosting and performing under the direction of internationally renowned Czechoslovakian composer Karel Husa. The marching band performs at all Friday night football games and the jazz and concert bands perform concerts regularly throughout the year.
